High Angle 1
7 days
This Course has been designed for Emergency Services and other personnel who may be called upon to undertake technical rope rescue from elevated locations. It provides a thorough introduction to modern rope rescue techniques.
Course content is as follows -:
- Equipment: Selection, Use, Limitations and Maintenance
- Knots for Rope Rescue
- Rescue Anchors: Selection and Rigging
- Ascending Fixed Ropes
- Descending Fixed Ropes

High Angle 2
10 Days
This specialist course follows on from our Level 1 course, and covers advanced technical rope rescue techniques. In order to apply for this course a candidate must have successfully have completed High Angle 1.
Course content is as follows -:
- Revision of High Angle Level 1 Techniques
- Rescue Anchors: Selection and Rigging
- Rope Transfers, Deviations and Rebelays
- Mechanical Advantage Systems: Advanced
- Pick-Offs and Snatch Rescues, Highlines (Cableways) and Pendulums
- Stretcher Lifting and Lowering Techniques
- Negotiating Difficult Edges
- Practical Rescue Scenarios
Confined Space
5 days
This Course has been designed for Emergency Service personnel who may have to enter confined spaces in order to perform Rescue operations. It covers all aspects of safely entering, working in and undertaking rescues from confined spaces. In order to apply for this course one must have successfully completed High Angle 2 however custom programmes can be designed for industrial personnel.

- Confined Spaces: Definition, Identification and Legislation
- Permit / Non-permit Required Confined Spaces

- Confined Space Entry Procedures
- Atmospheric Monitoring Techniques

Swift Water Rescue
5 days
This Course has been designed for Emergency Service personnel who may have to perform Swift Water Rescue operations. It is based on the NFPA Swift Water Rescue Technician Level. In order to apply for this course one must have successfully completed High Angle 2-
Course content is as follows:
- Introduction to swift water rescue.
- Swift water safety.
- River Dynamics and Hydraulics.
- Swift water rescue equipment.
- River movement.
- Shore based rescue.
- Technical rope rescues.
- Small craft handling (crocs).
- Swift water rescue scenarios.
Trench rescue
7 days
This Course has been designed for Emergency Service personnel who may have to perform Trench Rescue Operations. It is based on the NFPA Trench Rescue Technician Level. In order to apply for this course one must have successfully completed High Angle 2 and Confined Space Rescue,
Please note that the trenches will have to be excavated by The Client according to a diagram with dimensions which will be supplied by DART.
Course content is as follows -:
- Types of trenches and trench construction.
- Trench rescue safety and generic hazards.
- Trench rescue equipment.
- Trench rescue practical evolutions including pneumatic and timber shoring of straight, T, X and L trenches.
- Theoretical and practical assessment.
Structural Collapse
12 days
This Course has been designed for Emergency Service personnel who may have to perform Structural Collapse Rescue Operations. It is based on the NFPA Structural Collapse Rescue Technician Level.
In order to apply for this course one must have successfully completed High Angle 2, Confined Space Rescue and Trench Rescue.
Course content is as follows -:
- Building construction and classification.
- Structural collapse safety and generic hazards.
- Structural collapse team composition and specialized components.
- Stabilisation of buildings post collapse.
- Concrete and metal breaching, breaking and cutting.
- Crane operations.
- Basic and technical search techniques.
- Victim extrication.
- Practical scenario based training.
- Preparation for regional and international response.
- Theoretical and practical evaluation.
